1. FIRE SAFETY

Do you have a fire escape plan?
If you have an escape plan, have you practiced it?
Do you have working fire alarms in all bedroom and main living spaces (living room, kitchen, dining room, etc.)?

2. ANIMAL SAFETY

Does your child know how to approach an animal safely?

3. HOME SAFETY

Does your child know what to do if approached by a stranger?
Does your child know your home address?
Does your child know your phone number?
For older children - Do you have an established "safe word" that your child can use in case of an uncomfortable or dangerous situation?
Do you feel like your child has an appropriate understanding of medicine safety?
Does your child know what to do if you get separated in public?
Does your child know your first and last name? (Not mom or dad)
Does your child know his/her full name?

4. ROAD SAFETY

Do you have helmets for your children?
If you do have helmets, do you require your children to wear helmets while riding bikes/trikes/scooters etc.?
Do you have proper car seats?
